May 11 EDIT: The parade is over...I hope you had a great...and inspiring...ride through all our blogs!
Hello! You've arrived here by following the link from Lyssa's Song of My Heart Stampers blog, (or this may even be your first stop). I hope you're enjoying the parade of Stampin' Up!'s beautiful papers! I will be showing you my projects made from the Sweet Always pack. Gorgeous colors! This is stop #17 on a 24 stop tour, the link to the next stop is at the bottom of this post.
My first project is a Birthday card and gifts for my niece Natalie - she loves pink and butterflys~
For the card: I used the Eastern Blooms stamp set, Pumpkin Pie/Regal Rose/Pink Piroutte inks and card stock. I stamped in Chocolate Chip the birthday greetings from Very Versatile on the Wide Oval punched piece and layered that on a Lots of Tags die cut piece in Regal Rose...and though I think it may be hard to tell, used the Texturz Plates to emboss the card base.
For the letter N: I adhered the DSP to the letter, sanded the edges and sponged Regal Rose there as well. I took a Filigree Brad and using a Mini Glue Dot adhered a pink Rhinestone Brad to the center. I used a Glue Dot to adhere the piece to the letter. I also took a length of Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and tied it on.
The butterfly is made out of the paper as well...I made a paper bead, added wings and threaded some wire thru the body and curled it for antennas. My husband says it looks like an alien butterfly...but I think it's alright! I adhered the butterfly to a punched out Pumpkin Pie Scalloped Oval piece using Crystal Effects and used a couple of Dimensionals to attach it all to the letter.
I also put together a quick pillow box to put some $$ into...soooo easy to do!! I ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie through the Big Shot using the Pillow Box bigz die. I attached a strip of DSP to it and used my Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches for the sentiment piece. I used a stamp from the On Your Birthday set for the greeting. It's all wrapped up in a piece of Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain ribbon.
My next item is a magnet to put ... where ever!! I ran the Top Note bigz die and a magnet sheet through my Big Shot, then adhered die cut Chocolate Chip cardstock. I then trimmed the die cut Chocolate Chip DSP to the perforation and adhered it on top of the cardstock. Next I adhered the Pumpkin Pie piece and put my layered focal piece on top of it all. I used the Rustic Rooster set on this...I love that hostess set! I used the cracked glass technique and think it looks really nice with this paper and image.
My final project to show you is a 6x6 scrapbook page. I'm not a scrapbooker...but this size is so quick and easy to make! And the Designer Series Papers make it quite simple to select your colors and layouts. I'm sure it could be more elaborate...but I'm a clean and simple style stamper...and scrapper!! As if you couldn't already tell!
For this page, I used a 6x6 piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, a couple of pieces of Sweet Always DSP and layered my picture on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cs (I used the Signo Gel Pen to add a few dots in one corner). I also punched a Scallop Circle out of Pumpkin Pie and layered that with a 1 3/8" Circle punched Pink Pirouette piece and my 'giggle' stamp from Warm Words is stamped on a 1 1/4" Circle punched piece of Whisper White. It's very hard to see, but I used a stamp from the Pocket Silhouettes set, stamped off once using Pink Piroutte ink, on the Whisper White as well. I again used my Signo Gel Pen to dot the scallops.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed this stop on the parade! Be sure to check out Stampin' Addicts where we'll all be chatting about the Hop...so...hop on over (sorry, had to do it!) - after you've completed the tour! There are a total of 24 stops, and no matter where you start, the links will take you around to all of them until you end up back where you started! The parade links will remain active until Midnight (pacific time) Sunday, May 10.
