Happy Sunday Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday! Great day to worship our Lord!

My hubby and I went to our local fair yesterday. Something neither of us has done in years...and never together. I'm sure many people think the fair is a great thing, but for us it was just too crowded and unless you have rugrats, are interested in horseracing, have livestock to auction...etc., there just isn't much to keep your interest...and that's us! LOL We've decided to stick to attending home shows and the like that are held at our fairgrounds.

Anyway, that's what we did yesterday after meeting some family for lunch (oh yea, then the fair food didn't tempt us either :( )!

My stamp club ladies came over for club on Thursday, and we did have a lot of fun! I still need to take pics of the cards we did...and will be posting those soon. They are wanting to do Christmas cards, so we did one card using Dasher (love that little guy), and another one using Delightful Decorations. We made a bunch of simple tags using that set as well.

New Banner and Buttons!

Just popping in to explain how I came up with my new banner! I also created some buttons for my sidebar...and a siggy!

I used My Digital Studio (thank YOU Stampin' Up! for coming out with this awesome software!) to create the graphics, saved the file as a .JPEG...then did the resizing and cropping in Photoshop. Too Cool!!!! It didn't take long at all, and I can't wait until I really have the time to delve into (and maybe read the user guide!) this program to see all that it's capable of doing.

September Class and Club Projects

I have a meetup group and a hostess club that meet once a month. They both do the same projects. The meetup group just pays a class fee since they don't want to be tied to a club - at least not yet!

I love the Treat cups and Sweet Treats stamp set. We did the Halloween 'lollipop' that's everywhere! We also did a Christmas 'ornament' that could contain a small gift (or $) and hid in the tree. My family always had small wrapped gifts hidden among the branches of our Christmas tree.

I also couldn't not do a quick Build a Bear card! They're just too cute!

The ladies really liked the Sweet Treats a LOT, 4 of my 5 clubbers bought the set/cups, and the 5th one plans on borrowing it (and bought cups!). I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with...there were lots of ideas flying around!

Stampin' Addicts My Digital Studio (MDS) Blog Carnival

Today begins the Stampin' Addicts MDS Blog Carnival. Several SA'ers have created projects using the newly released My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! As you visit all the blogs attending this party (listed below) we hope you will get some great ideas as to how to use this awesome program. The carnival will last through November 1! A button on the sidebar of the partying blogs will take you to the post where the party is happening, so when ever you are blurfing and see that button, you can click on it to see the projects as well as links to the participating blogs.

The project I am sharing is an 8x8 Hardback Photo Cover album. I made a book documenting my and my husband's motorcycling hobby/life! Obviously, due to the subject matter, the content tends to be on the masculine side...therefore, not too many frilly embellishments were used, but I did sneak them in there once in a while!

Here is one of the layouts inside the book, then a picture of the actual album opened up to that layout...

 
 

   Well, as you can see, true to form for me...this is a rather simple and clean layout. I think it works okay tho for the topic. This is what the album looks like laid open to these pages. Edited to add: the pics of the completed album don't do it justice (my fault - I suck at taking pictures!) the colors are true to SU!'s color pallette!! Totally awesome in my opinion!

I do plan on adding some additional projects to my blog highlighting some of the other components of the software over the next month. So do keep checking back! You will hopefully see some progress in my use of the software as well! It is so very easy to use straight out of the box. I can only imagine what I will come up with over time as I get a better feel for what it can do. Oh, and when Stampin' Up! starts releasing additional content...woo hoo!!!
